Garlic Parmesan Popcorn

Are you looking for a delicious snack to enjoy during movie night or your next big game? If so, you’ve come to the right place. Today, I’m sharing my family’s favorite recipe: garlic parmesan popcorn. Get ready because this buttery and savory treat is sure to tantalize your taste buds! You won’t be able to eat just one handful of this irresistibly crunchy and cheesy delight – making it perfect for sharing with friends!

Ever since my dad quit smoking many years ago, I have caught the popcorn bug.  He swapped out chain-smoking for popcorn with TV at night and it quickly became a favorite family snack.

While I have tried flavored popcorn from retail establishments, I hadn’t tried breaking out of the plain popcorn with butter mold until recently.

Maybe I was scared that I couldn’t make a blend I liked.

Thankfully, most of my experiments worked out pretty well.

Here’s one that has quickly become a favorite for me.

Garlic Parmesan Popcorn

I used microwave popcorn when making this batch up.  It is quick and I can do all the mixing in the bag.

Directions for how to do it from homemade (air or stove-popped) popcorn are included in the notes.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag Microwave Popcorn
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp. Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp. parsley

Instructions

  1. Pop the popcorn per your microwave's instructions.
  2. While it is popping, mix together the garlic power, Parmesan cheese, and parsley in a small bowl.
  3. When the popcorn is done popping, carefully open the bag. While still warm, sprinkle cheese blend onto the popcorn.
  4. Fold the bag closed and shake well to disperse the seasoning.

Notes

I put 2 as the serving size as that's about how much my family members will eat in one sitting.

If you are using popcorn made in an air popper or stovetop, you will want to pop about 1/3 cup of popcorn to get the ratios correct. Also, use about 2 Tbsp of butter on the freshly popped popcorn to coat it and then toss with the seasoning.

  3. We love popcorn. Usually we just have butter and salt, but if we vary it tends to go sweet. This sounds like a delicious alternative!

  4. I am a popcorn nut! I could eat it everyday. The only recipe I have ever tried is the sweet, kettle corn. I love garlic, so your recipe sounds like a winner.

  5. Popcorn is one of my guilty snacking pleasures!! This flavor combination sounds delicious; I can see myself loving this!
