This post about When We Last Spoke, the 2020 movie, is part of a campaign. All opinions are my own and images are used with permission.
What movie I watch is often dictated by my mood.
Sometimes I want something lighthearted which may have little impact beyond some pleasant feelings.
Othertimes, I am in the mood for something deeply though provoking.
Then there are movies like When We Last Spoke that offer lighthearted moments while providing those thought provoking moments.
Synopsis of When We Last Spoke

In 1967, sisters Juliet (Darby Camp) and Evangeline (Chandler Head) are abandoned by their mother at their unsuspecting grandparents’ farm in the small southern town of Fireside.
Stunned by their sudden arrival, tender-hearted Walt (Corbin Bernsen) and champion fiddler Ruby (Melissa Gilbert) graciously stand-in for the missing parents and create one blue-ribbon recipe for a loving family.

Fireside, home of radio Station KOFF, kept secrets, broken promises and to-die-for sundaes serves as the backdrop for this heartwarming story full of surprises.
Top it all off with the unexpected appearance of Walt’s ailing mother—eccentric, Emily Dickinson-quoting Itasca (Cloris Leachman), and laughter and tears abound.

Richly packed with plenty of quirky characters and hilarious escapades, When We Last Spoke is a timeless movie for all ages that digs in deep to things that matter most—family, friends, love, and forgiveness.
This film is a limited engagement in movie theaters with Fathom Events. It will be in select theaters on Tuesday, October 27th; and then Thursday the 29th through Saturday the 31t.

My Thoughts on When We Last Spoke
I’ll start by saying that I was drawn to this movie for 2 main reasons: some of the well known actors in the film (especially Cloris Leachman and Melissa Gilbert) as well as the idea of family.
This production did not disappoint.
Rather you become immersed in this family’s story.
You come to adore the little girls and see the struggles faced by their grandparents.
And you want them to fully recognize that while all families have struggles, the love for each other can be a balm and strengthen those relationships.
Scenes with Cloris Leachman were magnificent. You felt the love flowing from her role as great-grandmother to her great-grandkids. It is always a delight to watch one of her performances.
And I was thrilled to see Melissa Gilbert showing how a grandmother can have fun with her grandkids. Having grown up with her on the screen, it is nice to watch her doing things that are fitting this new season in life.
Overall, a fantastic film focused on the importance of relationships, especially with your family and friends.
