Easy Beef Roast and Root Vegetables Featuring Enspice

This post, Beef Roast and Root Vegetables Featuring Enspice, was made possible with full-size samples from Enspice through a Moms Meet campaign to use and post my honest opinion. Compensation was provided and this page may contain affiliate links.

For many of us, finding ways to boost our nutrition is important.

Because, many of us fall short of getting all we need from our diet.

We can take vitamins and supplements.

But, it is more fun to get that boost in our food.

Enspice offers a variety of seasonings that can help you do just that.

What is Enspice?

Enspice is a supplier of different seasonings and spices that have been enhanced with 21 plant-based vitamins and minerals.

The nutrients come from 10 different plants.

Spices offered include:

Black pepper
Cape Cod
Chipotle BBQ
Cinnamon
Seasoned Salt
Taco Seasoning

One teaspoon of the spice (or that much of the different spices combined) provides 50% of the adult FDA daily values for those nutrients.

Each of the seasonings and spices are non-GMO, kosher and gluten-free.

They have also made sure the nutrients are resistant to heat so they can be used in cooking.

(Big hooray for me with that taco seasoning as most commercial ones have wheat!)

But, Enspice is more than just a supplier of spices.

They are a public benefit corporation with a mission to help end childhood malnutrition.

The path they’ve chosen is a product that also helps put nutrients back into the food being consumed.

Each purchase donates one meal for a child.

Our Thoughts on Enspice?

Overall, we have had a good experience.

Most of the usage in the house has been with the black pepper and the seasoned salt for prepping meats. Like the recipe at the bottom of this post (a Beef Roast with Root Vegetables.)

But, I have also sprinkled some of the cinnamon onto my coffee in the morning.

Or, a bit of taco seasoning on beans.

I will add that the Enspice cinnamon on its own has a slightly different taste than the other cinnamon in my house. This is from the addition of the nutrients.

After a few sips, I no longer noticed.

Ingredients

  • 3 lb. beef roast (your preference for cut)
  • 1 to 2 tsp. Enspice Seasoned Salt
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp. Enspice Black Pepper
  • 6 potatoes, cut into large pieces
  • 4 carrots, cut into large pieces
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 5 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 1/2 cup beef broth

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Lightly sprinkle the seasoned salt and pepper on the meat.

Sear the meat on the stovetop to lock in juices.

Arrange half of the onion slices along the bottom of an oven-safe casserole.

Place the seared meat on top of the onion slices.

Arrange the cut carrots and potatoes around the roast.

Top the roast with the sliced garlic and remaining onion slices.

Pour the beef broth over the top of the roast.

Bake the roast for 20 minutes per pound (1 hour for a 3-pound roast)

Remove from the oven and allow it to sit for a few minutes before checking the temperature with a meat thermometer.

Notes

I prefer to use salt sparingly in the cooking process. Instead, people can sprinkle more onto their food at the table.

Our family uses the Azure Market Beef Flavored Broth Powder. 1 tsp to 1/2 cup of water for this recipe. You can order direct from them (either ship to home or via a co-op in your area.)
