Easy, Family Friendly Dinners with A Year with Six Sisters STUFF

Family dinner time can be made easier with resources from Six Sisters STUFF.

Like many other families, preparing dinner is something that has a sneaky way of needing to be done daily.

Our family makes a point of eating dinner together every night. Occasionally, we have made exceptions if someone travels for work or an activity.  It is around the dinner table that we have some interesting discussions.

Well, planning dinner has been made a little easier with the inspiration found in A Year with Six Sisters STUFF: 52 Menu Plans, Recipes, and Ideas to Bring Families Together, a book I was blessed to review.

A Year with Six Sisters STUFF is a 256-page softcover book filled with colorful photos and plenty of instructions on making each dish featured in the menus.  The cookbook is published by Shadow Mountain Publishing.

I also noticed there is A Year With Six Sisters’ Stuff Kindle edition for those who like digital editions of their books.

While I prefer a real book for cookbooks, I have slowly started getting more on Kindle. That way I can access them almost anywhere.

My Thoughts on A Year with Six Sisters STUFF

I really enjoyed the copy of Six Sisters STUFF.  You can tell that these sisters are busy women with families who want to meet their needs and not have to spend all day on basics like meal preparations.

So, it is no surprise that I am really impressed with this book.

As I joined the tour on the late side, I haven’t been able to make too many of the dishes.  We have all drooled over several of the pages. The boys are helping me pick meals for upcoming weeks.

Something that my boys probably really like about the book is that each meal has a simple dessert to serve.  Let’s face it, sugar appeals to kids (and even some of us adults.) And, dessert means more time together as a family around the table.

However, I can see how this book can serve as a springboard to create your own family’s favorite meals. Just mix and match recipes in the book and supplement them with side dishes.

One of the dishes we made that had enthusiastic thumbs up is their Slow Cooker Eight-Can Taco Soup.

This main dish is so simple to make that any of my boys could do it.  Well, the 4-year-old can do the dumping after someone opens the cans for him.

Their only complaint is that the 8 servings are not enough with 4 growing boys in the house.  So, we extended it by serving the soup over egg noodles and made a note to double the recipe next time.

My family of 6 found this to not be enough as a soup. I recommend doubling the recipe if you have more than 4 people eating.
