Like so many avenues of my life, it seems like Lent is speeding by me at lightning speed. I’ve been tacking stock of where I am for my ‘goals’ during this Lenten season and am sad that I am missing the mark in some areas. However, I keep reminding myself that like everyone else on this earth I am NOT perfect and need to not beat myself up too much over missing a goal when I’ve done my best to reach it. This includes missing my ‘deadline’ to have this post up on Sunday. Being away from home for most of the weekend it just didn’t happen.
I am loving the extra time in prayer and reflection this year. I am not doing all of the ones I shared in the Lenten Devotional post a few weeks back. However, I am doing a few of them. Additionally, I really cherish the ability to attend daily Mass once or twice each week to help recharge my spiritual batteries. Finally, the Soup and Stations at our parish feeds both my desire to be connected to a community of believers and lets me set aside that time each week to reflect upon Christ’s Passion. This past week, I brought lentil soup (only I used just 8 cups of water and made it in the crockpot on high for 4 hours) to share. It came out more like a stew than a soup, but got rave reviews from family and friends who ate it.
I hope that my readers will join us on the journey through Lent as we seek to grow closer to Christ. Christian bloggers are welcome to join us in the weekly link up with posts that they are writing to showcase activities or reflections taken during this Lenten journey.
