Super Easy Baked Pasta

As I shared the other day in a post about how awesome Finish Dishwashing Cleaner is, we recently had a great super easy-baked pasta dish.  What I love about this is you can keep it simple or really dress it up.  And, it is really quick to make in a modest or large batch (planned leftovers are great for the busy family!!)>

Super Easy Baked Pasta Recipe

Here’s the super basic recipe for you (and suggestions for additions as well!)

Making This Super Easy Baked Pasta

The basics are easy… your pasta of choice, sauce, cheese, and possibly meat. But, you can change up the kind of meat (e.g. ground beef, chicken or Italian sausage) and even the type of cheese (mozzarella, ricotta or asiago.)

And, I would expand the flavor when there’s a bit more time by adding sauteed peppers, onions, and (gasp!) even mushrooms.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pasta (shape of choice), prepared according to package directions
  • 1 lb ground beef, browned
  • 1 jar pasta sauce
  • 1/2 to 1 pound cheese (we used 1/2 pound of fresh mozzarella, sliced, for this batch)
  • crushed red pepper

Instructions

  1. In the baking pan (or the pot used to make the pasta), combine all of your ingredients.
  2. Bake in a 350-degree oven for 20 to 30 minutes, making sure the cheese is nicely melted.

Notes

You can make this one your own. Change up the type of meat or leave it out altogether. Add in some great vegetables, such as peppers, onions, mushrooms, and broccoli. Mix the types of cheese used, too.

Transitioning this to allergy-friendly is simple, too. Pick your favorite gluten-free pasta if needed. Also, there are dairy-free mozzarella alternatives.

  1. baked pasta is always a crowd pleaser!! what’s not to like? i love it because i can prep dinner in the morning when everyone’s at school and pop it in the oven right before we eat- the kids’ schedules keep me from being able to cook full meals often

  2. I have never made baked pasta (in my adulthood), BUT I need to make a few dishes to freeze before this baby comes and I KNOW baked pasta is going to be awesome! Thank you for sharing this recipe!

  3. We love pasta here. I love to make huge batches and then freeze a couple large portions for later. They are usually very much like what you made here! Yumminess!
