Simple Food, Big Flavor, enticing Mexican inspired recipes from Aaron Sanchez

I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

While I enjoy going to a good restaurant on occasion, I truly believe the best food is made at home.  It is with that thought in mind, that I read through this title by chef Aaron Sanchez.  Some of you might recognize him from the Food Network’s Chopped, Chefs vs. City, and Heat Seekers.

In this cookbook, he shares from his experience with family members to help you bring memorable Mexican inspired dishes to your kitchen.   The recipes are written for the home cook, not a professional chef seeking to broaden their horizons.

I have to say that one of the thing about this cookbook I love beyond the actual recipes is the layout.  He presents 15 basic recipes that can then be used to create many other dishes.  So, his garlic-chipotle love can be used in a bean and butternut squash picadillo as well as in chipotle-garlic mashed potatoes.  Along the way, you’ll also get an education in preparation methods and selection of ingredients.

Simple Food, Big Flavor has a retail price of $26.99 in hardback, although I saw it on Amazon for less.  You can also purchase an ebook version from Simon and Schuster for $14.99.
