Chicken Primavera with Garlic Herb Sauce
As part of a sponsored post for Collective Bias®, I made a quick dinner recipe (Chicken Primavera with Garlic Herb Sauce) using Land O’Lakes Sauté Express® Sauté Starter for the family.
Dinnertime is something that I occasionally find myself dreading. It can become a repetitive chore that consistently shows up on a daily basis. With four growing boys plus a husband to feed, the idea of just ditching a nice meal for something ‘simple’ like a bowl of cereal just is not happening. Thankfully, there are products like Land O’Lakes Sauté Express® Sauté Starter which help make preparation a little less daunting with various dinner ideas including easy chicken recipes.

I found the Land O’Lakes Sauté Express® Sauté Starter sitting amidst the butter and butter-like products at our local Walmart. (You can see more of my shopping experience in the Google Plus album.)
If you didn’t take the time to look closely, it could have been easy to miss. But, after visiting the Land O’Lakes website for dinner ideas I was a woman on a mission and honed in on the pleasant packaging in short order.
My family is not too picky about what type of meat is being served. Instead, they are more interested in knowing there is meat on the plate!
Chicken is one of my staple ingredients in the house as everyone likes it and compared to other items the cost is more affordable. Pasta is another staple that helps to fill those hungry bellies.
Having picked up both the Garlic Herb and Italian Herb flavors of Land O’Lakes Sauté Express® Sauté Starter,I could already feel my creative juices flowing.
Yes, I was ready to pull from what was in the house to make a dish everyone was sure to love: Chicken Primavera with Garlic Herb Sauce.
Making Chicken Primavera with Garlic Herb Sauce
Now, it would have been a bit quicker if I’d just sautéed the chicken in the melted starter and put some buttered pasta and a vegetable on the side. However, I wanted something that took a little more prep time and produced more of a wow factor.

After prepping the vegetables and chicken, I was ready for cooking.
I cooked the chicken breasts whole. In hindsight, I would recommend spending a few minutes to cut them up into strips so they cook much faster. Plus, they will have all sides coated with the delicious Land O’Lakes Sauté Express® Sauté Starter.
Even though I knew the spinach would cook down quickly, I was afraid of putting too much in the pan.
Instead of 2 cups, I might use more like half a pound of spinach the next time I make this.

Here’s the finished product for which the family all gave a big thumbs up:

My husband and I were a little more adventurous and added pine nuts along with the parmesan cheese the boys had on top of theirs.
I think the pine nuts added a nice change of texture along with flavor to it.

Now I am thinking about other creative and quick dishes I can make for the family using this product.
I’m already thinking about cubed beef with the Italian Herb served on top of potatoes and I think shrimp would cook beautifully in any of the options.
Even this chicken primavera would work nicely on top of quinoa or rice instead of pasta.

What are some ways that you prepare chicken in your house?
Have you tried Land O’Lakes Sauté Express® Sauté Starter yet and if so what did you think?

I have not tried this sauce yet but heard of it. Looks great
I have tried the garlic & herb variety. I cooked steak with it and thought it was really good. I would like to try the Teriyaki flavor with chicken.
That looks delicious plus a great way to add fresh veggies too! #client
I have tried the Land O Lakes Saute Express starters but it sounds like it would make things a bit easier..not having to worry about spices and such.
Crystal, that’s the beauty of this product. Far less measuring to be done for the seasoning. I bet even just meat cooked in the Land O Lakes Saute Express starters would be fabulous.
That looks so full of flavor and easy! I love how colorful your dish is!!
Thanks, Emily. I try to eat colorfully as it’s an easy way to make sure you are getting great nutrition (when it comes to fruits and vegetables.)
Looks good! I’ve tried the Italian Herb Starter and I like it quite a bit, it is very easy to use!
That’s the other one I bought and want to try next, Anne. Love how easy Land O Lakes makes dinnertime for us.
That looks delicious and so easy to make! I’ve seen them in the store but never tried them – guess it’s time to!
Jeannette,
I’d seen them for several months, but didn’t purchase until now. I’m hooked for the future as it is so much easier than trying to measure out my own herbs and spices.
That looks interesting! I haven’t seen it at my market, but I’ll double check next time I go shopping!
Jenny,
It is somewhat easy to miss if you don’t know what you are looking for package wise.
