I grew up watching Scooby-Doo and my boys have followed in my footsteps. At the moment, it is my 4 year old son that adores the Scooby-Doo shows. He was thrilled to have a review copy of Scooby-Doo! Stage Fright Original Movie come to our house this fall.

About Scooby-Doo! Stage Fright

It’s an exciting trip to Chicago for Scooby, Shaggy and the Mystery Inc. crew when two of their own, songwriting duo Fred and Daphne, are finalists in the hit TV show, Talent Star. Not to be left out, Scooby and Shaggy have a secret act in the works, which they are betting will take the contest by storm. Unluckily for everyone, the competition is frightful — the show is broadcast from an opera house with a history of horrors and a particularly vengeful phantom that has cursed the show’s production. From costume changin’ chases to creepy clues, the show must go on. With a natural talent like Scooby-Doo on the case, you can be sure that the laughs, thrills and hijinks are always first place!

Our Thoughts on Scooby-Doo! Stage Fright

Like many other Scooby-Doo movies, this one is a bit scarier than the original television series. However, it is not the scariest one around and J loved watching it with his big brothers. I was impressed with how they are able to take the characters and make them fresh and fitting within our modern culture. And, the bonus vintage cartoons (Never Ape and Ape Man & Don’t Fool with a Phantom) were well received while creating feelings of nostalgia for me.

I also love that they offer it in a Blu-Ray pack which includes a DVD copy and Ultraviolet. We can choose to watch it online or have it on the iPad for trips. Plus, when we go in the RV again this coming spring and summer the boys can bring the DVD along while the Blu-Ray disc remains safely at home.
