Scooby-Doo! 13 Spooky Tales Around the World on DVD

Scooby-Doo was a main-stay cartoon during my youth and one that the boys go through spurts loving to watch.  The older episodes gave you that scare factor with the knowledge of a mask coming off at the end to share the real culprit.  With little ones occasionally peeking at the screen to see what a big brother is watching, I appreciate that aspect compared to some of the newer feature length shows.

Scooby-Doo! 13 Spooky Tales Around the World just hit stores today on DVD, with episodes that take the viewer around the globe.

about the show~

SD 13 Spooky Tales_2D Box ArtNobody vacations like Scooby-Doo and the gang!

Join Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and their canine pal in Scooby-Doo! 13 Spooky Tales Around the World as they visit some of the coolest and creepiest destinations across the world. Prepare to get shipwrecked in the Bermuda Triangle with scary skeleton scuba divers and chased through the canals of Venice by the Ghostly Gondolier, who even kidnaps Daphne! Hop aboard a haunted Aztec barge, but not before Scooby-Doo! wows a vengeful god with his best Mexican hat dance – to say nothing of his airplane cha-cha over the headhunter-happy jungles of Brazil. Along the way you can bet the Mystery Inc. gang will get to the bottom of each mystery with plenty of “zoinks!” (the same in every language), plenty of high-jinks, and a whole lot of international cuisine – leaning tower of pizza anyone?

The boys have been enjoying this disc.  J has deciding the Scooby-Doo is pretty neat, especially since his big brother, D, wanted to watch it.  With around 2 hours of episodes on the 2 discs, this set can easily last for several afternoon viewing times.  (Well, that assumes you aren’t having a serious Scooby-Doo marathon!)  I’ll admit that some parts are corny or contrived. But considering there’s not a whole lot of bad langague, bloody violence or scanitly clad ladies in these episodes, I’ll take the corny.
