Plan to Beat the Winter Blahs (before they can hit!)
I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Shorter days mean that winter weather is coming before we know it up here in Alaska. If there is one thing I learned last year, the longer winter means it is even more important to plan ways to avoid the winter blahs.
This year I am thinking we might need a short trip to someplace that is outside of our ordinary. If we still lived back in Kent, Ohio, I would be checking out the deals for Kalahari Resorts’ Sandusky location.
What I remember from our Ohio days is that the location sports an awesome water park. Not just a mere swimming pool indoors, but slides of different sizes. The Zimbabwe Zipper reaches speeds of 40 mph. ~ faster than rush hour traffic back east!
There’s even an area for the younger kids that I am sure J would adore. I know that my boys enjoy swimming in the middle of winter and this place would be one they’d hesitate to leave.
What I didn’t know is that they have Safari Outdoor Adventure Park for during the warmer months. It features a three-level ropes course, 400 foot long Zip Line Tour, 32 foot high Adventure Climbing Wall and the Safari Adventures Animal Park where visitors can get up-close and personal with some really awesome animals. I’m thinking at least 2 of my boys would enjoy the Zip Line.
Plus, this location offers a variety of specials throughout the year to help make that time away have less of an impact on the budget.
Better yet… check out the contest Kalahari and IZEA are running! Yes, you can win a free stay at a Kalahari Resort valued at over $200!!
To enter, all you have to do is:
1.) Leave a comment on the contest post about the feature or amenity you are the most excited to experience when visiting a Kalahari resort

What a great way for someone to beat the duldroms and enjoy time as a family.
