Pinewood Derby Fun for Cub Scouts 2013
I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
The Pinewood Derby is one of the highlights of every Cub Scout’s year. This particular year was doubly exciting for our Pack as we’d raised funds for a new track we can call our own after years of borrowing another Pack’s track.
As seems typical for my boys, D was not that into designing and making his car compared to many of his compatriots. (He’s the blue on in the collage below.) However, this year his vehicle came in 2nd place for at least one heat of the race which is an improvement from past years.
Enjoy the photos of all the different cars I snapped. There are some really creative boys out there! I’m bummed to see that I missed one grouping of cars, too, when I tried to sneak in my photos. That’s a tough job when boys are hovering to vote on the cars for some prizes and then pulling cars to race.
Are there any Cub Scouts (current or past) in your life that enjoyed the Pinewood Derby?

My friends son just made these, that is so cool. I wish my oldest would have been in the Clubs Scouts!
I remember when my son made these! They grow up too fast.
My nephew just joined cub scouts and loves it… I think they just did the derby also 🙂
