Out and About ~ Visiting the Alaska Zoo
I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Instead of going with other homeschoolers, we went with several of hubby’s new coworkers and their families.
The day was cool and overcast when we arrived at the zoo. There was a kids run going on which had the parking lot rather full. If we had not been meeting other people there, we most likely would have turned around and saved the zoo for another day.
But, we found a spot and then saw we were lucky to have NO ADMISSION charge as we went in while the run was going on. Why no fees?
Well, you could only see about 6 different exhibits until the run was over. And, in at least one of those, the creature in question was hiding in their ‘house!’
So, we saw those 6 animals and then waited a little while for the run to finish. Then, we saw the remaining exhibits that were open. A few animals (e.g. the bees) were not back from their winter break. But, it was a nice (albeit cool) day to walk about and see many animals we could encounter in the wild here.
After the trip through the zoo, we enjoyed a nice afternoon with the group as two attendees were celebrating birthdays.
Lots of yummy food (gotta love salmon pockets and shrimp & pineapple kabobs) plus plenty of great company.
The kids even had fun with the large goodie bags one mom put together. Silly string also made an appearance ~ which is almost guaranteed to generate some fun.
