When things got busy, it seemed like several post ideas got pushed onto the back burner. Before I knew it, months had passed. So, I decided to think of warmer temperatures and green grass while writing about what we’d done in a short series of post showcasing our adventures.
Vacation Bible School
This past summer, D attended one at a local Lutheran church which he loved. I think what he enjoyed the most was having a few hours each morning away from his brothers. J and I did shadow his group on the last day, though.
Our parish hosted VBS in July. As we do not have quite the right facilities to have a large number of kids on site, the parish partners with a local church to offer VBS. Our parish supplies the volunteers for the morning sessions and their church supplies the volunteers for the evening sessions.
I volunteered to lead a group and had R help me for most of the days that week. P helped in the nursery on the first day, but got burned out quickly and stayed home for the other days. D loved spending time with new friends and having that much needed break from big brothers.
The dates are already set for this summer’s VBS at our church and we are looking forward to another week of fun.
