Between schoolwork and games, my boys sometimes do spend way too much time on their devices.

That is when I turn to different activities and games that encourage screen-free play.

Even better when it means running around!

Screen Free Play with Laser X

We’ve shared about some of the Laser X products in the past.

Laser X Evolution is the newest addition to their lineup and they work with all the previous products.

These products help you create a laser tag arena in your own backyard!

Blast opponents up to 300′ away – inside or out, in darkness or bright sunlight.

Choose from more than 20 team colors to light up your blaster!

Blaster beams go through windows and strategically bounce off walls and mirrors to hit opponents, while quick-slide reload keeps the action going.

Advanced sensors on the blaster allow an interactive voice “coach” to offer tips and tricks throughout the game.

All Laser X gear works together.
Games can include unlimited players.
Ages 6+.
Requires 6 “AAA” batteries (not included) for the 2 included laser tag guns.

Our Thoughts on Laser X Evolution

While we have enjoyed other Laser X products, I think this one is the favorite.

Why?

My boys are not fans of wearing something on their chest.

And, the ability to change color is fun.

Now the downside is that they quickly figured out how to ‘cheat’ by covering up the sensor.

With the sensor covered, the other person could have a direct line of sight, but the laser tag gun won’t detect a ‘hit.’

What I want to do next is use these laser tag guns with the Laser X  Gaming Tower we reviewed a few years back. (It is in a box in our garage while construction continues inside.)

Another feature we like with Laser X Evolution is the 300 foot range and ability to bounce off walls if playing inside.

Now that we have acres of land, the area for game play is huge.

Plus, there are plenty of trees to provide cover.

I suspect they’ll have fun in our woods soon.
