Holiday Movie Fix Time!
I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
In case someone missed me mentioning it in the past, I am a ‘sucker’ for holiday movies. They just seem to call my name and a few tug at my heart.
I thought I’d share some of my favorites each week after checking out the schedules for the cable stations that air most of them. So from this coming week’s schedule, here are a few favorites.
Recipe for a Perfect Christmas

Love the food connection and have to admit a new fascination for mixing different cereals together after watching this film. (Did you know there’s actually a franchise operation that sells cereal where they come up with mixes or you can create your own?) It’ll be on Lifetime Movie Network on Thursday, December 8th at 10 p.m., Friday, December 9th at 2 a.m., and Saturday, December 10th at 1 p.m. on the Lifetime Network.
National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

You’ll find Christmas Vacation on ABC Family this Wednesday, December 7th and Monday, December 12th at 9 p.m. Eastern time.
Mitch Albom’s Have a Little Faith
This one I have NOT watched, but have my DVR set to record as it promises to be wonderful. I’d be hard pressed to think of a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie that I didn’t enjoy.
Synopsis from their site:
Mitch Albom (Bradley Whitford) has a pretty great life. He lives in Detroit and is happily married, he’s an award-winning sportswriter, a must-read newspaper columnist, a screenwriter, a radio and television broadcaster. Then two men come into his life, and he realizes something’s missing. The two men are Rabbi Albert Lewis (Martin Landau), who presides over a thriving synagogue in a comfortable New Jersey suburb, and pastor Henry Covington (Laurence Fishburne), a recovering drug user and dealer, who preaches to the poor and homeless in a crumbling Detroit inner-city church. Moving between their worlds – Christian and Jewish, African-American and white, impoverished and privileged – Albom witnesses first-hand how these two very different men – the feisty, funny rabbi and the intrepid inner-city pastor — not only live life, but celebrate life. What do rabbi and reverend have in common? Albom comes to realize they both take profound comfort in believing that there’s a divine spark in all of us, and that one person – or in this case, two – can make a big difference in others’ lives, as long as they have a little faith.
This movie premiered tonight, but is airing again on the Hallmark Channel on Thursday, December 8th at 9 p.m. and Sunday, December 11th at 4 p.m. (It’s not on the schedule later that I could see, so record it while you can!)
You can visit the schedules yourself and find a few holiday movies to enjoy.
Lifetime (if you click a title to see the movie page, it will show recommended shows that you might enjoy. I found that a pretty neat feature!)

As the featured columnist for the Movies and Music category, you can be looking forward to weekly posts on what we are watching or music we’ve enjoyed. Feel free to leave suggestions for me as well that are family friendly or uplifting for adults. While I have movies and some music selections in mind, I’m always on the lookout for other great choices.
