Whether it is to go to church or out for the night, I love the appeal of a good dress. There is something wonderful about just pulling it over your head, donning a few accessories and then heading out the door. However, I don’t always have an easy time finding pretty dresses that I like for both fit and color. So, I’ll admit to being just a little bit nervous when selecting my preferences for a review of 2 dresses from cable & gauge.
Feelings of excitement were bubbling inside me as I opened the pretty pink box with its contents wrapped with care.
Would I like what was inside or wish I’d chosen differently???
Pretty Dresses with cable & gauge ~ Faux Wrap Dress
The first dress which I just knew I wanted to try is the Faux Wrap Dress in Blue Silver Gray. The company labeled it as a flirty feminine dress features a faux wrap front with wide shoulder straps and a flowing skirt.
I anticipated that the color would look good on me. But it has been a while since I had a dress which ended near the knee, so I was still a little nervous about how it would look. Sliding on the dress, I quickly fell in love. The fit is fantastic and this is definitely one of those pretty dresses which makes you feel pretty.
This is a dress that I’d wear for church, date night, or any other occasion when I want to look nice.
Pretty Dresses with cable & gauge ~Twist Top Dress
The second dress I selected is what I would call ‘stepping out of my homeschooling mom comfort zone.’ When my third born son saw this dress, he remarked that it was just ‘wrong, plain wrong’ and that I should only use it for sleeping and never leave the house in it.
This dress which has my boys running to hide and not admit I’m their mom is the Twist Top Dress in Neutral Tossed Animal. The designers took the popular twist top and made it into a dress.
I think the boys just get a bit embarrassed by the thought that their mom could be anything other than their mom. Walking down the hall like a runway model while wearing it before photos were snapped probably didn’t help.
I adore how this dress fits, especially on top. Seeing how much I love the fit, I am thinking that a few twist tops might be needed for my drawers.
Now, this is not a dress I plan to wear to church unless I had a black blazer on top. However, a night out with my husband or for a special night in…those are the times I’ll be donning this one.
What are some of your favorite outfits to wear for church or occasions when you’d like to dress up a little?
