Back to (home)school Bash!

I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Mid-September found the boys and I enjoying friends at the FREE at Home Back to School party.  What better way to spend an afternoon than to visit with friends, make new ones, play some games and eat cake!

I loved the “Get Ready for School” relay game the younger kids did.  Each took turns filling a lunch bag with snacks (chips, granola bars, and juice boxes) with some jumping jacks and push-ups needing completion before the next kid on the team could start.

Afterwards, the kids started snacking on the goodies packed in their bags.

Then it was off to the outdoor School Supply Scavenger Hunt.  Who knew that mechanical pencils grew on the evergreen trees up in Alaska!?!

Finally, more socialization time was had while the kids patiently waiting in line for a piece of cake made by one of the group’s founders and bearing the new logo for the group.

All in all, it was a fun few hours in our afternoon.  Too bad going ‘to school’ isn’t always that much fun.  Maybe I just need to serve cake as a snack food and the boys will ‘enjoy’ school a bit more….
