40 Days of Seeking Him Lent 2012 ~ Remembering The Last Supper

Holy Thursday has arrived and we now reflect upon The Last Supper. That night, Jesus celebrated the Passover with his disciples and established how we are to celebrate The Eucharist.

Some of my Christian friends are having Seder meals at their churches in remembrance of Christ’s last meal.

 

Our lady’s group at St. Andrews actually did a Seder meal for our meeting last month.  The programs are ones used by one of the leaders with her family.  I’ve attended a few Seder meals as an adult in Christian churches and have to say that I love how their family and another have joined together in this celebration every year.  The program allowed for all of the kids to participate beyond the typical manner found in Jewish households.

 

 

At Mass, we will also have the very visual demonstration of being a servant through the washing of the feet. How moving it must have been for those men to have Jesus washing their feet those many years ago.

 

At the conclusion of Mass, the congregation is invited to stay with the Blessed Sacrament and pray.  I love the Taize song, Stay Here and Keep Watch.
