There are times when I think God sends obstacles into our lives to make us pause and evaluate how we are living. Last week I had to switch gears a bit as Sunday afternoon the 4 year old had a fever hit and stay with him for a few days. That meant a lot of snuggle time as he just wanted to curl up with his mama.
It was also testing week for my 5th and 8th graders and my 5th year helping to facilitate testing for our homeschool entity. So, I spent several hours each day on my feet with lots of mental energy expended working the dismissal room.
Once Saturday arrived, I felt the weight of work undone and the physical pain radiating from my feet to my lower back. Instead of playing catch up on work which would mean hours on the computer, I made the conscious choice to gear up and go for a ‘hike’ with the family to enjoy the fresh air. (I’ll share more photos later this week.)
Taking time away from the electronic traps of modern life has me yearning for more time in real life and less online. So, I am going to be making conscious choices about how many reviews I’ll be doing on the blog and how much time will be dedicated to doing online work. It won’t be easy to break the habits formed, but I feel that God is calling me to do it.
