Today we begin our journey through the season of Lent. Once again I am honored to be joining my sister in Christ, Trish, from A House Upon the Rock for this special meme.I love the accountability that co-hosting a link up can bring as I really do want to take time to remove myself from the everyday distractions (like Facebook and a messy house!) and put the focus more on Christ.
I have to confess that my body seems to know that Ash Wednesday was coming up with the requisite fasting required by the Catholic Church. I spent part of Monday and most of Tuesday feeling famished and craving all the foods I knew I shouldn’t be eating. I fear that upon waking today I’ll have my belly trying to tempt me away from the conscious decision to fast as is expected for an adult without medical issues. Instead of succumbing to my flesh’s desires, I plan to spend more time in prayer and attend Mass at least in the morning if not also in the evening as not all of my family members can make the morning one.
I hope that my readers will join us on the journey through Lent as we seek to grow closer to Christ. Christian bloggers are welcome to join us in the weekly link up with posts that they are writing to showcase activities or reflections taken during this Lenten journey.
