40 Days of Seeking Him 2011 ~ Day 3
I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

I almost didn’t write about it as I am sure most of my Catholic readers already subscribe. But, as you just never know if someone has NOT heard about it…
Lenten Adventures from Holy Heroes.
Each Monday, Wednesday and Friday, an email arrives with the link to the next page with a video or two plus activity sheets you can use. The one that arrived today has a video talking about a bean jar as a visible way to see the whole families daily sacrifice during Lent. I really love the idea of doing little things each day that shows our love to God and our neighbors instead of the focus on what we’ve given up.
Signing up is easy. Just click on the Free Sign Up button on the homepage! You can read more about it from their flyer.
As a brief aside, it’s only the third day of Lent and I am already longing for a cup of yummy coffee. Smelling all the mamas at co-op this morning brewing up some to drink had me longing all the more to join them. I’m wondering if it is my inner child now fixating on what is being denied. (That’s definitely food for my thoughts!)
I'm going to get back for the links later tonight. I'm finally just getting around to reading all yesterday's links for the meme to begin. It isn't easy to give up something we love. I'll be thinking of you this week with the coffee. I hope it gets better for you.
I'm going to have to look up those videos tomorrow, thanks for sharing (it's getting a bit late at the moment…)
I am definitely blessed to have so many amazing resources. I even have lenten apps for my iPad and the boys' iTouches.
I'll have to check that site out. We aren't Catholic but I am looking for some way to make Lent have some meaning for us.When I'm feeling deprived I just take a big sniff of whatever it is I can't have and then think of all the times I've already eaten it and then I feel better. I don't usually even want the item because I know it's not good for me so I try to focus on how much better I feel without it. I've probably eaten enough chocolate in my lifetime for three women so I can take a break for a little while, lol. I hope it gets easier for you!
I think the videos are great even for non Catholics. We watch them and when they mention something we don't do, my daughter will turn to me, and I'll just say "I know, that's ok" lol! We watched all their Advent videos too!
