He Is Risen ~ Celebrating the Resurrection at Easter
I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
In what seems like a blink of the eye, Easter has arrived. Christ is risen! Alleluia! Alleluia! This is also my last ‘entry’ in the 40 Days of Seeking Him Lent 2014 meme. Many thanks to all who have been following and participating in it.
This year our family has taken a rather low key approach to celebrating Easter. Morning was a bit ‘lazy’ with boys enjoying Easter baskets and the family watching (affiliate link) Veggietales: Maclarry & Stinky Cheese Battle. I loved the message about how we are many parts, but all one body.
We arrived early at church to make sure we had a seat at the noon Mass. It was so nice seeing friends and celebrating Christ’s Resurrection together. There was a group of teens and parents on string instruments which lent a lovely mood for the music.
Then, the boys did an impromptu egg hunt in our backyard while we just had a leisurely afternoon. Even dinner was on the easy side…a ham, sweet potatoes and peas.
Ending the day will be a viewing of (affiliate link) The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
The boys and I have been eagerly awaiting this movie and I am glad they were able to delay gratification by waiting for today.
We might have celebrated the actual Resurrection Day today, but for the Catholic Church this begins the Easter season which lasts 50 days. I am looking forward to continue growing in relationship with the Lord and in the process I hope to nurture other relationships as well.
(Saw this on Facebook and just had to share!)
How did you spend your Easter this year?
What do you plan to do for the future so you might grow closer to Christ and deepen your faith?

This post is being linked up to 40 Days of Seeking Him Lent 2014. Please join me and other Christian bloggers as we share our journey through this Lenten season as we seek to grow closer to Christ.
I love the shots of the egg hunt in the snow with shorts on! Happy Easter!!
