The Care and Feeding of a Blog

I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

While I have some ‘down’ time on the TOS Crew, I decided the blog needed a face lift.

Yes, I have plenty of things to do around the house.
With all the new Crewmates coming onto the TOS Crew Forum (a private site), I have spent my fair share of time on there.
Yet, after months of ideas floating about my head for the blog, I decided to take the plunge.
If you are reading posts via my Facebook feed, then you won’t have noticed any changes.  But, if you are clicking through to the blog via Google Reader, then you might have noticed the difference.  And, I am still tweaking it a bit.

For those that didn’t notice a change (beyond the patriotic background and picture header I now have), I hope that the 3 column layout and change in font size make it a bit easier to read.  Using the new page feature here on Blogger is allowing me to more easily set up an about us page, one with a disclosure statement, and for the moment a page of things we are selling off our shelves. By the weekend, I plan to have a page with all the affiliate links arranged neatly with a bit about each company and why I signed up to be an affiliate with them.  You’ll find the pages listed up top under the new picture header.

While content is still the primary focus of time spent blogging, I want to make sure the reading is pleasurable to the eyes and the site easier to navigate.  I’d love to hear how the readers of this blog are liking the changes (or maybe NOT liking the changes.)  Feel free to leave me a comment or shoot an email my direction (my profile and the PR page both have a new email for reaching us.)
