Who Are the Inspirational People in Your Life?

When was the last time you stopped and thought about people who inspire you?
I know that it is easy to get bogged down in the daily grind of life and not consider the impact others are having on us.
However, as part of an attitude of gratitude, I like to take time now and then to consider this.
At first thought, it is easy to consider those closest to us as being inspirational people.
Your parents are often top of mind as they were the first to love you and help guide you on the path to the person you would become.
However, when I stop and think about others in my life, there are many who could be considered inspirational people.
Inspirational People in Your Life: Examples from Mine
Usually, it is not the person who seems to have everything.
Their life is not a charmed one.
They are not ‘superstars’ in the eyes of the world.
Rather, they are people who when faced with adversity meet the challenge head-on.
If asked, they might be quick to say they do not view themselves as inspirational to others.
There is an extended family member who knew a divorce from her husband was needed.
Yet, she has handled the process and years afterward with such grace that one might consider her an example of how we should all be acting (whether married or divorced!)
Instead of maintaining segregation at milestone events, I have seen photos where an outsider might not even suspect it was a divorced couple with their children.
There are family members who continued to make time for others when they were going through the torture of cancer treatment.
One aunt welcomed a few of my boys into her house to stay when we visited my parents.
Rather than sink into negativity, she embraced the positive and did her best to continue a normal relationship with the family.
A cousin, now long since deceased, was the most loving and kind-hearted individual I knew.
She was several years older than me but never considered me too young to play with when we visited.
My cousin, Gail, had Downs Syndrome. (That’s me on the far left and my cousin Gail on the far right.)
Born at a time when the common course of action was to give up your child to an institution where they were expected to have a very short life.
My Aunt Delia refused the pressure from the medical establishment and brought Gail home where she was raised surrounded by love.
Gail was a delight to all who knew her until her death in her 30s.

Born This Way is a series on A&E Network which chronicles the lives of a group of young adults born with Downs Syndrome (Trisome-21) as they pursue their passions while defying society’s expectations.
The series also follows their parents who share their own journey of joy, sacrifice, and unconditional love.

I find this blog post so inspiring. Its amazing how many people you have in your life that inspire you. I find inspiration in people daily and always have problems with this question because it’s hard to pinpoint one person in particular. It’s amazing the how many people God puts into my life daily that makes me this, “It is good.” But this post was nothing short of inspirational and beautiful.
This is beautiful. I have a friend who inspires me all the time. He has come out of adversity and a rough road to walk as a teen to become a representative for our country in the Paraolympics in Rio in just a few weeks. He reminds me every time I hear from him what it means to not give up on your dreams no matter what happens. Thank you for sharing.

My mom is inspirational. She is always optimistic, no matter the obstacles that come her way.
My mother inspires me. She is a caring and giving person.
My daughter inspires me as she became a widow with a brand new son at age 30. She is working, raising her son to be a good young man and helping her Dad and me with anything we need.
My older sister who is 11 years older than me. She’s very accomplished, and when I was young she helped me get a good start with teaching me many things. She has a lot of courage, and has helped me get out there and try things. Now that I’m older, a senior, she helps me not be afraid to get old!
My Mother inspires me through her love and determination and never quit attitude.
My Husband Inspires Me Through His Strength, Dedication, And Hardwork, He Supports Me To The Fullest.
My Mom is a big inspiration. She raised 4 kids on her own and did a great job! She Is so kind and caring and taught us to be the same.
My husband is my inspiration because he loves me and the kids and helps provide for his family and encourages me to feel happy and makes me laugh!
My gramma is an inspiration to me. She’s gone through a lot of hardship, yet is still so sweet, and loving, and giving. She makes everyone around her smile.
My mom is an inspirational person in my life. She inspires me to be kind, generous and responsible.
My mother was very inspirational to me and my life. She was one of the hardest workers I’ve ever known and I’ve always wanted to make her proud. She taught me that hard work and determination pays off.
My mom inspires me because she came to this country without an education and without speaking English but managed to learn the language, work full time, and earn her Bachelor’s Degree while raising my brother and I.
