Guest Bedroom Ideas to Add A Special Touch This Holiday Season

I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

For many people, the holidays means having family or friends come to visit. I know that when we are fortunate to have someone make the trip up to our house, I really want to go beyond having a place for them to lay their head. Thankfully, there are ways that you can add some special touches to make your guest feel welcome this holiday season.
When we have someone coming to visit, I always start by giving our guest room a good cleaning and make sure the bed is made with clean sheets and my special ‘guest only’ towels are pulled from the closet. However, you can use some of the following items to help you go the extra mile in creating a comfortable environment for your honored guests.

In order to make your guests feel extra special, consider offering some spa-like amenities, such as this aromatherapy eye pillow, to make them feel extra relaxed and so happy to be in your home instead of a generic hotel room.

  1. 99% of my family is local and the last 1% doesn’t involve himself with our family. so we never have guests *tears* but i WILL have a beautiful guest room sanctuary one day. and then i will move in to it.

    1. Brett,

I am working to make my master bedroom into a sanctuary. It is tough to do as so much stuff gets stuffed in there, but we are making progress.

Lucky you to have most of your family local! I sometimes wish I lived near my own family, but hubby doesn’t like the heat of Louisiana.

  2. Great ideas! I love the “Welcome” blanket and the bamboo towel set! Those are definitely things that would make me feel welcome! Thanks for all of the ideas….I have some work to do! 🙂

  3. I love these ideas. Unfortunately at my house the reality is guests are lucky if we remembered to clear the boxes stored on the bed so they can sleep. I’d love to have room for a true guest room, not an overflow storage/guest room.

    1. Anne,

We suffered from the overflow guest room issue for years, too. Now what was the guest room is the eldest son’s room. Most of the time, we only have guests in the summer and now they can stay in our RV for more privacy. But, I’d still want to add some of those special touches for them.
