Gold Panning Fun

I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Outside of the little community of Hope, Alaska, you’ll find a state park area where people still go gold panning.  We scoped it out earlier in the summer and then brought some family members out to experience it first hand.

Our outing was blessed with fantastic weather.  The previous summer had so much rain and temps averaging in the mid-50s.  So, we loved the clear skies.  The locale we visited was more shaded than not, although we had pockets of sun on the river.

While the girl cousins found it fun, they didn’t quite catch gold fever nearly as hard as their dad and D.  We had a difficult time pulling them away from the water and their gold panning adventures.
