Early in December, we joined a few other families from the FREE at Home group at Alaska Wild Berry Products in Anchorage for a mini-tour. The boys and I had gone inside before to see the large chocolate waterfall in the entry area and smell all the yummy confections.
Thankfully NONE of the kids tried to jump into the tempting fountain of chocolate.
This time, we got to see people working behind the glass as production was in full swing for the holidays. Along the glass, they have informational boards up so you can learn about the process at your own pace. (So, in essence, the tours are mostly self-guided.)
And, they made sure samples of their wild berry jelly filled chocolates were out for us to try. P wasn’t too sure about fruit filled chocolate, but sang a different tune after trying a piece. Then, he went looking at the assortment of Alaskan themed items they sell.
I also love seeing how different places deck the halls for the holidays. This was a gorgeous tree to behold.
This company ended up getting most of our Christmas shopping dollars as several in Mr. O’s family were sent small gift boxes. With a special on 2 day shipping during December, it was the easiest Christmas shopping I’ve done in a while.
