40 Days of Seeking Him ~ Advent 2011 ~ Week One
I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
Today in church there was a different feel in the air. Father Tom was wearing purple and a large Advent wreath sat elevated near the steps up to the altar. A family was called up to help light the first candle as we begin the season of Advent and prepare to celebrate the most wonderful gift God gave us ~ Jesus Christ.
I have to admit that while I knew Advent was coming, I haven’t done much to prepare. Our Advent wreath is still in a box downstairs and most likely will not be pulled out for a few more days. It’s hard to get to anything down there as Mr. O’s construction project of installing our new pellet stove a top a custom made platform has that room in serious disarray. But, that doesn’t mean I can’t do things to start preparing my heart. Even without the Advent wreath gracing our table tonight, our family can begin a nightly reflection.
I’ll be sharing our family’s journey through Advent this year on a near daily basis. I hope you’ll join me for the ride.

My friend Trish over at A House Upon the Rock is joining me hosting this 40 day meme.
We will not be doing a daily link-up, but rather a weekly one. If you blog more than once a week, please add each link to the link-up, we’d love to find you and read what you are doing and learning as you seek Him.

Please consider joining us as we Seek Him for the next 40 days.

I just stumbled across this site…and of course we know there is no such thing! We TRY (just try) to lead a God centered life and we all need all the help we can get!
Joining in! I am excited to read what others contribute!!
I linked up. My post does not specifically use the word Advent, but it’s about seeking Christ during the Christmas season. If it must use the word Advent, please feel free to delete me from the linky.
Thanks!
Erica,
No worries about saying Advent or just preparation for Christmas. I realize that many Christians do not follow a liturgical year while some are starting to embrace that practice.
I’m excited about this meme and hosting with you! I hope to be ready in the next few days – by the 1st at the very least! But we will see.
Blessings,
Trish
