40 Days of Seeking Him Lent 2017 Week 2

I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Here we are entering the second full week of Lent.

I had grand plans on some spirit filled posts last week, only they have been pushed back.

40 Days of Seeking Him Lent 2017 Week 2

From a barren landscape new life will come.

Update on My Lent 2017 Journey

Overall, my spending fast has been going well. I’m sticking with perishables only for the grocery store. And, I have experienced more than one boy express disappointment when I told them I would not be buying something they desired.

The beginning of the week went well with my daily Mass attendance. Then I started with a sore throat Wednesday night. By Thursday afternoon, I was at the doctor’s office to make sure I didn’t have something like strep.

His prognosis was influenza.

Yuck!

So, the second half of last week had me doing prayers at home. And, doing all I could to help kick whatever virus took hold to the curb. Which also meant not the greatest choices in food eaten or the opportunity to exercise.

However, I am getting better acquainted with some of my essential oils in the process. They are making a huge difference in how I am feeling.

Last Week’s 40 Days of Seeking Him Link Up

I am so grateful to all the bloggers who took the time to share in the Lent 2017 Week 1 linkup. I am always inspired reading the thoughts of others.

If you somehow missed seeing linked posts, hop on over to see them now. Remember that it is never too late to embrace Lent!

Most Visited Post

A Simple Prayer for LentThe most visited post was A Simple Prayer for Lent at Circling Through This Life.

If you didn’t see it, hope on over.

The prayer is simple, yet powerful. And, I bet you can memorize the prayer quickly so it is ready to be said whenever needed.

You’ll have to pop over to see what it is and a bit of the meaning of one term used in the prayer.

My Personal Pick to Highlight

As is the custom for this link up, I am highlighting one of the linked posts that really spoke to me.

Sara at To Jesus, Sincerely shared a wonderful post titled Love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength.

The title is from one of my favorite Scriptures (Mark 12: 30-31)

This post is not just a personal reflection on the Scripture.

Rather, it invites us to examine in our conscious. To see where we can improve our spiritual lives and grow deeper in relationship with Christ.

And, she’s offering a free printable to help you on a virtue challenge.

I am downloading my own copy of this posts’ printable and can’t wait to see how it helps me to focus. (There were earlier months, so visit the appropriate page on her site to get those, too!)

40 Days of Seeking Him Sampler

If you have been reading the blog for a while, then you might recall that this link up started in 2011 as a daily one. I didn’t always participate in the link up, but have made an effort to do it as often as possible. We switched to a weekly link up format which means at least one anchor post per week here.

I decided to pull together a ‘sampler’ as a free ebook to subscribers. If you are already a subscriber, just open up a recent weekly newsletter and click over to the appropriate “subscriber only” page.

If you are not currently a subscriber, you can get your copy when you sign up.

40 Days of Seeking Him Lent 2017 Week 2 Link Up

40 Days of Seeking Him LentThis year, I am joining Trish @ A House Upon the Rock in co-hosting the 40 Days of Seeking Him meme.

The linky will be up each week so you can add in posts daily, weekly, or whenever you are able.

The posts can be about anything related to Lent and preparing for Easter. This includes crafts, food, devotions, music or reflections.

I hope that my readers will join us on the journey through Lent as we seek to grow closer to Christ. Christian bloggers are welcome to join us in the weekly link up with posts that they are writing to showcase activities or reflections taken during this Lenten journey.

We are expanding the platform for this meme to include a 40 Days of Seeking Him Pinterest board for submitted posts and a Facebook group.  I hope that you’ll check out the Pinterest board and join us on Facebook, too, as we seek to grow closer to Christ.
