40 Days of Seeking Him Holy Week 2017
I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
Can you believe that Holy Week 2017 is here???
In some ways, it seems like Lent has flown by and I did not accomplish all that I set out to do.
Yesterday, the sacristans were veiling the crucifixes in the church for this holiest of weeks.
Update on My Lent 2017 Journey
Spending Fast ~ Trying to fix my vehicle led to spending on parts which hasn’t corrected the problem. We have a shiny new starter in the vehicle for when it does finally get fixed. However, the old minivan just needed the battery charged up to be road worthy again. So much for avoiding spending this past week!
However, I am planning to continue doing my best to fast from spending for the foreseeable future as moving has so many inherent expenses.
Health ~ I’ve been trying to cut back the amount of Zyrtec I take as I don’t want to be tethered to a medication which will give me hives if I miss a day or two. I’m at half a tablet per day and it seems to be okay. I also got some upper body ‘workouts’ in as warmer temps allowed us to pop ice off the driveway and short walk to the house. However, I forgot to wear gloves and rubbed part of my hand raw.
Spiritual ~ I was so happy to make it to daily Mass TWICE this week. Also, I was able to attend the MOMS group where we discussed the second third of the book (affiliate link) Resisting Happiness by Matthew Kelly. I have had a post banging around my head for that book , but haven’t had the time to write it.
I have a few more of his books on my list to read.

Last Week’s 40 Days of Seeking Him Link Up
This past week should be called the FOOD focused Lent link up.
A fantastic blogger, Karen, from MommaChef shared one that is perfect for Easter dinner: Pomegranate Braised Lamb Shanks.
While the boys and I will be using a ham from the freezer, I know that my husband adores a good lamb dinner.
I am thinking this could also make for a wonderful date night dinner once we are together.

Her Vegetarian Mini Quiche recipe calls to me as I love things easy to ‘divide’ between the boys. (Yes, they still look at the amount of food on the plate and compare!)
I’m also thinking this are great to pack for lunches and possibly freeze extras for a quick breakfast.

At our parish, there’s a blessing of the Easter baskets that morning.
Those are just a few of the linked posts. Please consider popping over to last week’s link up
FREE Resources for Lent & Easter
If you have been reading the blog for a while, then you might recall that this link up started in 2011 as a daily one. I didn’t always participate in the link up, but have made an effort to do it as often as possible. We switched to a weekly link up format which means at least one anchor post per week here.
I decided to pull together a ‘sampler’ as a free ebook to subscribers. If you are already a subscriber, just open up a recent weekly newsletter and click over to the appropriate “subscriber only” page.
If you are not currently a subscriber, you can get your copy when you sign up. (
Additionally, you can grab a coloring ebook of Adam and Eve plus a short ebook on having a Healthy Easter.
40 Days of Seeking Him Lent 2017 Week 4 Link Up

The linky will be up each week so you can add in posts daily, weekly, or whenever you are able.
The posts can be about anything related to Lent and preparation for Easter. This includes crafts, food, devotions, music or reflections.
I hope that my readers will join us on the journey through Lent as we seek to grow closer to Christ. Christian bloggers are welcome to join us in the weekly link up with posts that they are writing to showcase activities or reflections taken during this Lenten journey.
We are expanding the platform for this meme to include a 40 Days of Seeking Him Pinterest board for submitted posts and a Facebook group. I hope that you’ll check out the Pinterest board and join us on Facebook, too, as we seek to grow closer to Christ.

We seem to be on the same wave length–unexpected expenses and Zyrtec! I’m glad you’ve been able to focus on the upcoming holiday though!
Love your update, Laura!
I’ll def be back to read the newer posts that join in!
Here’s wising you a peaceful, memorable Holy Week!
