40 Days of Seeking Him Lent 2012 ~ Holy Week is Here!
I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
Yesterday was a full day for me at church. Palm Sunday is one of the 4 times when the church sees more people. So, I agreed to play piano for the children’s choir that day as well as on Easter Sunday. I was so grateful that my husband could bring me to the church for the rehearsal as parking would have been near impossible. People were blocking some of the drives with their vehicles as snow continues to cover some areas of the parking lot.
What I loved was the longer liturgy to help us set our eyes upon Christ’s final days on this earth. We heard and participated in the long Passion reading. As a congregation, we said those defiant words of the crowd, “Crucify Him!”
While the Gospel reading was underway, I was drawn to the thought again of how we might be like Judas and betray Christ through our choices. Since my last reflection upon that theme last August, I have made a more conscious choice to consider all the people in my life as a reflection of God. It has helped me to be more loving towards individuals. However, I still struggle with those closest to me…my family.
Lord, when I begin to be irritated at others and find myself treating them in ways I would never purposefully treat you, help me to remember that we are ALL reflections of you. Guide my actions and words to always reflect your love.
Amen.

I hope you will join us on this journey as we prepare our hearts to receive the wonderful gift of salvation we’ve been given through Jesus’ death and resurrection.
