40 Days of Seeking Him 2019 Week 2

Happy Second Sunday of Lent! It also happens to be St. Patrick’s Day this year.

I’ve marked this day by wearing some green to Mass and we’ll be enjoying corned beef with cabbage and veggies. And, I am going to make my Irish Soda Bread with a gluten-free flour blend. Fingers crossed it works out.

Reflecting on Week 1 of Lent 2019

Spiritually, I feel like it wasn’t nearly where I wanted to be.

Sure, I read some of the daily reflections from A Word Among Us and The Little Black Book.

But, with the trip back to Colorado last Tuesday, I missed attending a daily Mass as I hoped.

Of course, that “Bomb Cyclone” that hit Colorado shortly after we landed put a damper on leaving the townhouse. Thankfully, we never lost power while many in the state did. It was interesting to see the rain and then snow coming at you horizontally.

And, I know that daily Mass probably won’t happen when I am in San Diego for Social Media Marketing World. Although, I suppose I could do like my grandmother did when she couldn’t leave the house and watch a broadcast Mass.  It just isn’t the same.

I do plan to bring both A Word Among Us and the Black Book with me. I may also bring one or both of the books featured below.

Kingdom of Happiness is the title being done as a study on Wednesday at our Alaska parish. 7 Secrets of Confession is one that I keep meaning to read as I know how powerful the Sacrament of Reconciliation can be.
