It is here. Palm Sunday. The day which begins Holy Week for many Christians.
For us, the church was a little bit more crowded. We began in the vestibule with the Gospel reading of Christ entering Jerusalem. Then we all waved a palm while entering the sanctuary where we later experienced a taste of the days to come.
Reflecting on the Past Week
I sometimes feel like a broken record.
So many ‘goals’ left unmet.
Things I want to do, but do not seem to have the energy or time to do.
Yet, I know that while I stumble and fall on the journey this Lent, I am still growing in relationship with Christ.
I know that there will be struggles. That there will be disappointments.
However, through our brokenness, our failures, our sorrow, God can use us and fashion us into the person we are meant to be.
That is why I will not dwell upon missing daily Mass since flying out of Alaska. Or wishing I had Friday nights off of work to attend Stations of the Cross at the parish.
Instead, I can focus on being a light in the world where I am placed. And, I can always choose to incorporate prayer into my daily life.
The same goes for this link up. I’ve done it for years and almost skipped this year. While I’ve only had ONE loyal linker each week (thank you Kym at Just a Second ), I am glad that I kept it going.
Some years I had more time to gently nudge some of my blogger friends to link up their posts. This year I didn’t have it in me.
Rather than dwell on the negative, I can look at how 40 Days of Seeking Him helps me to live out my faith. Even if it is imperfectly. And I can only write in the hopes it inspires someone along the way.
How has your Lent gone this year?
40 Days of Seeking Him Sampler
If you have been reading the blog for a while, then you might recall that this link up started in 2011 as a daily one. I didn’t always participate but have made an effort to do it as often as possible. We switched to a weekly link up format which means at least one anchor post per week here.
I decided to pull together a ‘sampler’ as a free ebook to subscribers. If you are already a subscriber, just open up a recent weekly newsletter and click over to the appropriate “subscriber only” page.
If you are not currently a subscriber, you can get your copy when you sign up.
40 Days of Seeking Him 2019 Week One Link Up
The linky will be up each week so you can add in posts daily, weekly, or whenever you are able.
The posts can be about anything related to Lent and preparations for Easter. This includes crafts, food, devotions, music or reflections.
I hope that my readers will join us on the journey through Lent as we seek to grow closer to Christ. Christian bloggers are welcome to join us in the weekly link up with posts that they are writing to showcase activities or reflections taken during this Lenten journey.
We are expanding the platform for this meme to include a 40 Days of Seeking Him Pinterest board for submitted posts and a Facebook group. I hope that you’ll check out the Pinterest board and join us on Facebook, too, as we seek to grow closer to Christ.
