40 Days of Seeking Him 2011 ~ Day 39

I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Today is Good Friday. When I was a child, I sometimes wondered why anyone would call the day ‘good’. After all, what is so good about a holy man being crucified. Of course, that was when I saw things as a child and could not fully appreciate the wonderful gift we were given by God when Jesus was crucified for US and OUR sins.

That day must have been one of complete anguish for Mary.  I know how challenging it can be as a mother to see a child suffer, even if you know it is what has to happen.

So, today, I wanted to share a version of Stabat Mater that incorporates film clips to visually portray Mary’s role.

  1. Thank you. Since becoming a mother, I always think of Mary. the last scene where she is cleaning the floor of the blood after the scourging brought tears to my eyes. There is a lot of truth in Corinthians – when we are young, we speak, understand and think and as children. As adults, it is so different.

  2. Powerful. Simeon prophesied that her soul would be pierced with a sword…Thank you for sharing.Blessings to you and your family this weekend,Trishwww.ahouseupontherock.com
