40 Days of Seeking Him 2011 ~ Day 2

Before Lent really gets going, I wanted to share about some resources available on the web from Catholic bloggers. Today, I wanted to highlight Liz at Holy Family Classical Academy.
She had two posts go live just before Lent began which I am taking and implementing in our house.
First, she created a nice Lenten calendar for the older elementary student. She actually has a black and white version for the child to color each day and one in color for a younger child who just wants to count down the days.
Secondly, she made up several sheets of Lenten Deed slips to place into a jar and have the kids pull one out. The deed drawn is then done by that child for the time you set. She’s using it with her 5th grade religious ed class and having one per week. But, in our house we are going to change them daily for now. (I know that a week seems like an eternity for some kids, including my younger boys.)
Both pdf files are available to download on her blog. I’m now curious where she got Father Nick for their home altar.

I love the idea of the deed slips. I have been going the route of daily sacrifice with the boys, but they would like the slips, I think. It makes it more fun. Thank you for the links!
