Super Easy Mock Payday Bar Mix

Learn how you can quickly make this super easy mock Payday Bar mix using two ingredients.

Growing up, one of my favorite candy bars was Payday.

Loads of yummy peanuts with that hint of sweetness.

Thanks to my mother-in-law, I now can make a mock Payday bar mix which is so easy my biggest obstacle is not always having it at the ready.

If you love the taste of Payday candy bars then you will enjoy this combination of peanuts and candy corn to grab by the handful

The first time I saw this mock payday bar mix at her house, I was torn.

You don’t just see people putting candy corn on display.

Candy corn seems to be one of those options people either love or hate. Strong opinions are common on this seasonal candy.

I am not a huge candy corn fan. It is just a lump of colored sugar to me.

But, when you combine it with peanuts, I am eager to dig in!

Making the Mock Payday Bar Mix

Ready for it…..this is so easy that you’ll be done in a mere minute or two.

Grab a bag of candy corn and a large container of peanuts.

Oh, and a cup measure! That’s it.

Mock Payday Bar Mix for Halloween Snacking

I have to say that candy corn on its own does NOT have me chomping at the bit.

Considering how many bags you see marked down after Halloween is over, I guess others feel the same way.

But, my older boys are now asking me to pick up a few bags to have in the house.

Somehow the candy corn mixed with the peanuts becomes a delight to the senses.

I have to watch that I only eat a handful a day. Yum!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups peanuts
  • 1 cup candy corn

Instructions

  1. Measure out the candy corn and peanuts. We found that 1 cup of candy corn to every 2 cups of peanuts works well. Just add more in that proportion (or cut it down if making a smaller batch for snacking.)
  2. Toss the candy corn and peanuts in a bowl.
  3. Put out on the table and watch it disappear!

Have you ever tried to imitate it?

  1. I love payday bars and came across this posting. I want to try this, I hope I can find some Easter candy corn, that would be so pretty. Thanks for sharing, I pinned so I won’t loose the recipe.

  2. This looks so yummy and super easy. I have some candy corn left and peanuts and want to try this out. My favorite candy bar is Butterfingers.

  3. The picture of the candy corn reminds me of the Lewis Black sketch, where he said all candy corn was made prior to 1900. XD

    Even still, the craving continues…

    God bless,
    Miles
