Aerobie AeroPress for Fabulous Coffee
No need for a new electronic device in your house to make fabulous coffee. Read more about the Aerobie AeroPress and how you’ll get a perfect cup each time you use it.
During Lent in 2012, when I was in the midst of a coffee fast, I saw the new Aerobie AeroPress on their website.
You know that you’ve given up something you need to have given up when I began dreaming about coffee and contemplating what kind of coffee this small device could help create. Living in Alaska where coffee shacks are on almost every corner in the city, this is a real struggle.
So, I did what many a blogger would do, I reached out to the company to see if our family could get a unit to review.
Lucky for me, they agreed!
I was sent an Aerobie AeroPress to facilitate this review. No monetary compensation occurred and all opinions are my own. Amazon affiliate links are present for your shopping convenience.
Testing Out the Aerobie AeroPress
Now that Lent is over and I’m enjoying a cup (or two) of coffee each day, I was all set to give the Aerobie AeroPress a test hop.

My eldest son decided he had to join in on the ‘fun’ as he’s acquiring a taste for coffee with sweetness.
I have to start by saying that it did take me a minute to get used to the ‘action’ of the press.
But, now that I have the hang of it, the entire process is done quickly.
If I didn’t have to heat the water first, it would be significantly quicker than using my espresso machine.
However, the difference in time to prepare is negligible if not shorter.
The Aerobie AeroPress has a filter that pulls oils out whereas my espresso machine does not.
This results in a completely different taste to your coffee compared to other brewing methods.
The Aerobie AeroPress got a workout by my testing a variety of coffee beans.
I have yet to have a bitter taste at all or have any coffee grounds surprise me as I do with our coffee maker with a reusable filter.
Aerobie AeroPress is available through a variety of retailers, including Amazon. This is also where I order my replacement filters.

Making Coffee with the Aerobie AeroPress
The steps for using the Aerobie AeroPress are easy to do.
Put a filter (included in the box) on the screen and twist it onto the apparatus.
Place the set up on top of an empty mug.
Scoop in the coffee; add almost boiling hot water to the appropriate line.
Stir with the included stir rod and allow to sit for a few seconds. I usually count to 10.
Insert the plunger and apply pressure to extract your yummy coffee.
(I used the funnel intended for grounds to provide stability over my rather large cup in the photos below.)

I use this freshly made coffee to make a cappuccino.
For this review, milk was warmed in the microwave.
Then, I use a stick blender to aerate it to generate a bit of foam.
(Since my original use of this, I now use a Milk Frother which I adore. This allows me to have the perfect temperature & tons of froth if I want it.)

Coffee is a staple in my house.
I’ve shared how to make different drinks.
Also, I have showcased reviews of coffee brands and other products to make it a great experience.
