Hair Tutorial for a Casual Bun
Back when I wrote Making a Statement Through Accessories for Mother’s Day, I shared photos of my hair which I’d quickly pulled up. After hearing several local friends compliment not only that outfit, but my hair, I decided to put together this short hair tutorial for a casual bun.

While I did four sections for both the original post and the video, you can always do just 2 if you want less volume. Of course, the longer your hair, the larger the finished bun. But as long as you have a ponytail over about 4 inches in length you should be able to use this technique.

This bun is pretty and it looks easy to do. My daughter will love this, I will share this tutorial to her.
This is really cute and easy. Love it!
Hi Laura
This looks great. My hair is long so in the summer I want an updo that looks nice and put together, great job!

Thanks 4 linking up 2 Top of the World Style. Great tutorial
Happy to link up this week! I’m working on posting beauty or fashion ideas at least twice a month if not once a week.
I live in the HOT and have never thought of putting my hair in a bun! This is a great idea and I love the tutorial!
I’m either wearing my hair up or chopping it all off before I hit New Orleans for iRetreat. Long hair just makes you hot!
Nice! I never thought it’s that’s easy to do.
This is a handy tutorial! Now I want my hair to grow a little longer so I can give this a try!
I will have to try this. My hair is so fine though that I would probably need like 40 bobby pins instead of 4. It will most likely just keep slipping out. Lol. It looks really easy though, so I will give it a shot anyway. You never know!
As hot as it is out there right now, I couldn’t blame any woman for wanting to put there hair in a bun. Thanks for the tutorial on how to do it!
Until recently, I had really long hair. I had a horrible time in the summer months because it was so hot. I got lots of practice putting my hair up in a bun!
This looks pretty easy! It looks like you have thick hair? Mine is crazy thick, so I’m always looking for ideas that work with my hair and get it off my neck in the summer.
I really like this look and it’s so much easier than I would have thought!! I’m always looking for new ways to pull my hair up in the summer!
Very cute! My hair is short so generally all I can do is put a pony tail in the very ends if it gets really hot. This makes me wish I had longer hair!
I love the casual look of this bun. I am always looking for a way to make my hair look fashionable without spending a lot of time on it.
