gMovies Review: Family Friendly Christian Streaming

I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

The ability to stream shows on the internet to you home can be a wonderful blessing. There are no late fees to the library for forgetting a due date. And, you don’t have to drive somewhere to get a new show to watch. However, some services offer such a variety of shows that it can be easy to ensure the kids are only watching what you want them to watch. For those who want family friendly shows which fully embrace Christian values, you’ll want to take a closer look at gMovies.

Enjoy Christian Movies and TV Shows with gMovies

gMovies is an online subscription service which is powered by UP, American’s favorite TV network for uplifting entertainment. Subscriptions are available for $4.99 per month and there is no contract. They have around 300 different options available to view with selections from the genres of including Adventure, Animation, Comedy, Drama, Documentaries, Thrillers and more. You do need to either stream from your computer or a tablet (Android or iPad.) Each title in the collection is a Christian movie and TV show with new titles being added monthly.

There are some titles that were familiar to my husband and I, but not all of the boys. Both of us watched Davey & Goliath as children and our eldest son recalls seeing snippets of those shows at a VBS years ago run by a Lutheran church. Now we can introduce this gentle program to my youngest son as another way to teach Christian values.

I’ll admit that the section which is most interesting to our family is the Documentary one. Although, I’ll admit that there are some movies that have caught my eye. They also have a most watched page so you can see what other people are watching (and hopefully loving!)

I definitely recommend giving them a look and considering trying them out for a month to see if you family enjoys the programming available.  As we ditched cable over a year ago, we do most of our viewing through streaming services. Having less commercials to view and more control over what is being watched has been a wonderful blessing for our family.  I’ve watched on my laptop (and can connect to the TV screen if I want to share with everyone) and my youngest son has used the iPad app for gMovies with no issues.

  1. I would like to see “For Such a Time”. I love Bible movies. We only watch movies like these. I usually buy them since they don’t always have them all on Netflix. I definitely want to try this out.

  2. I like the idea of having lots of wholesome entertainment we can enjoy as a family. Personally, I think I would enjoy A Strange Brand of Happy, and other movies like it.

  3. I like that they offer wholesome movies that the whole family can enjoy together. We have been wanting to watch the movie “Finding Normal” and I see that it is available. We would probably watch that first.

  4. I am very interested in having a decent selection of Christian movies and documentaries to watch. It would be cool if they added “Old Fashioned” to the list.

  5. I like the live-action kids’ movies; I only wish there were more of a selection (although some of the movies in other categories look reasonably kid-attractive.)

  6. I am a subscriber to Netflix and one of my main problems is that I can’t keep it to family only movies. This appears to have taken care of that problem. Thanks so much for the info. I think one of my favorite categories would be the romance section, such as Hidden Secrets, as I love the ones with a little bit of romance in them:)

    1. We have that same problem, Charity. My youngest typically stays on the Kids option, but the older boys think it is a free for all if I’m not around. NO worries with gMovies in that regard!

  7. I haven’t heard of gMovies before. My family loves to watch good. clean movies and this would be a welcome addition!

  8. This is so cool! A Christian streaming subscription! I can see us watching a bunch of family videos with our kiddos! ♥ The monthly price is really nice too!

  9. I check the site and I’m really interested on the movie “Family Addition with Leigh Anne Tuohy”
