40 Days of Seeking Him Advent/Christmas 2012 ~ Week Four
I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Are YOU ready for Christmas?
I feel like we are no where near ready. And, I’m not talking about just the lack of a Christmas Tree in our house. Rather, this month has flown by and will a variety of illness we’ve been more lax on preparing our hearts than I would have liked.
The newest challenge is J’s confirmed influenza infection. It’s really thrown us for a loop. However, the older boys and I were able to set aside time for the spiritual with the overnight Winter Solstice retreat at our parish. I didn’t stay overnight and therefore missed the hour long Adoration ending at midnight. But, I was there for a Mass where the ‘choir’ was larger than the congregation.
This morning, I learned that my mother is also ill which adds to the heavy heart already happening here.
While I don’t have our halls decked for the holidays and we haven’t baked a ton of cookies or even done an advent devotional as a family every night, I do feel that through the trials and tribulations God helps to prepare our hearts for the joy that Christ brings.
