Beginning the Journey ~ 40 Days of Seeking Him Lent 2015

I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Well, it is HERE!  Yes, it is Ash Wednesday and the start of Lent for 2015.  I am excited to see where God takes me during this time.  This post is going live while I sleep and I anticipate that like past years I will wake from my slumber with a hunger that would make you think I’d been fasting for days.  I know recognize this as a typical reaction for my body as it anticipates a day of fasting. I’ll be praying that spending time at Mass in the morning will cull those hunger pains and I might need to skip exercise if it will be too intense.

Earlier this week, I did a sponsored post: Preparing for Ash Wednesday and the Lenten Journey  which offered some suggestions for devotionals including a few I am eagerly awaiting in my house.  If you are like me and do not have something in house, then you might consider an ebook format such as those mentioned in my Feed Your Reader (along with your heart and mind) with Lent Devotionals post from last year.  Also, a parishioner at our parish was super generous and purchased copies of A Word Among Us for Lent.  I will be using this myself and you can access each day online as well.

While I am looking forward to chronicling our family’s journey through Lent this year here on the blog, I am equally excited to see what others are doing in their lives to grow closer to the Lord in the days leading up to Easter.

40 Days of Seeking Him Lent

This year, I am joining Trish @ A House Upon the Rock in co-hosting the 40 Days of Seeking Him meme.  The linky will be up each week so you can add in posts daily, weekly, or whenever you are able.  The posts can be about anything related to Lent and preparing for Easter ~ crafts, food, devotions, music or reflections are all welcomed.

I hope that my readers will join us on the journey through Lent as we seek to grow closer to Christ.  Christian bloggers are welcome to join us in the weekly link up with posts that they are writing to showcase activities or reflections taken during this Lenten journey.

How are you marking the start of Lent this year?

Do you have any plans for ways to grow closer to Christ during Lent this year?

  1. I’ve decided to study the women in the bible and decide how I can emulate (or not — I’m studying the “bad” ones too) them in my life.

    1. Meg,

I have to chuckle about studying the ‘bad’ women of the Bible. I probably relate better to someone who’d had some serious struggles than anyone that was portrayed as never struggling.
