Casual Outfit for Cooler Summer Days
I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
Like many people, I have a few go to outfits in my closet. Something that I can grab, put on and be ready to head out the door in a hurry. This casual outfit with a nod towards the flowers of summer is one such outfit.
While I consider it still in the spectrum of casual given the pants, I can be found wearing it to church events or even Mass when I am in a hurry.
The black pants were purchased at Kohls. The top is a favorite thrift store find of mine as the fabric hugs my torso while being forgiving of a few extra pounds. And, the Liz Claiborne purse was picked up at a community sale for just $1.
Each time I wear this particular outfit, I try to change up my accessories a bit. This custom made turtle necklace featuring recovered sea glass was made and sold at our parish by the American Heritage Girls Troop. My husband thought of me (and how I collect turtles because they are my sorority’s mascot!) that Sunday as I was home in the middle of a miscarriage. It became a Christmas gift from my husband and boys that year and I love to wear it when I can.
I also adore this necklace from Jewels for Hope which I won in a giveaway a few years ago. The rich cranberry color goes so nicely with this top and the pearls strung between the cranberry beads help to lighten things up. This is another favorite necklace to wear when I want to be dressed up a bit.
Sometimes, I add on a bracelet like this custom one from Jewels of Hope which has both red and green beads featured.
Overall, I can’t help but smile when wearing this outfit.
What is a go to outfit for when you are in a hurry?

I love your outfit and jewelry. Your top is so pretty! It has not cooled down where I live! It has not rained in 3 months. It is so dry and the wildfires are awful. I live in Washington State where 3 firefighters died! I feel so sad for the families. My state is in a state of emergency and last night I could not even open a window because of the smoke. But, my go to outfit is my really nice capris with my blue embellished top with my diamond studs!
Pretty Laura, love the details and florals! Do you live in a log home

Thanks, Jess.
Yes, we have a log home. VERY Alaskan compared to all the split levels that were prevalent in our price range. It still needs a bit of work, but we love it.
I love when the weather gets a little cooler and i can wear clothes that are a little dressier. You look great in this.
Thanks, Ann. I’ve had women at church come ask me about this top. Somehow the photos don’t even do it full justice for how great it fits and moves with you.
This is such a great outfit on you. I love the flowers on the top. It is a nice pop of color. I like to wear Capri’s and a nice light T shirt.
The necklace from Jewels for Hope looks great with that top. Cute outfit!
I think this is a wonderful outfit for the fall. I tend to wear a lot of black so it’s right up my alley.
Black is definitely a staple in my closet, too. That way I can wear a top or scarf that really pops with color.
That is a really pretty outfit, and the accessories, too, and looks wonderful on you. I don’t have a ‘go to’ outfit, which is why I freak if something comes up I don’t expect, even if casual.
Thanks so much for the compliment, Rosie.
I have a few tops that I rotate on a regular basis with these pants, Rosie. It definitely makes life a LOT easier when I can go to the closet and pull everything out in a minute.
