I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
When ever I am able, I like to help others. Maybe it is just a heart for service, but I find that giving to others really helps my own esteem, too.
What’s the 12 Days of Giving and how do you particpate?
Just by taking a few minutes out of your day and using the application on Walmart’s Facebook page, you can nominate a worthy, local nonprofit that you would like to see benefit from a charitable donation. Walmart will be giving away $1.5 million dollars in this promotion. Think of how many people and communities that can help!
Once you land on the 12 Days of Giving application page, click like to open it up.
Scrolling down the page, you’ll see past winners and the amounts they received. I love seeing who is benefiting from these charitable donations. It really brings a smile to my face!
To get your nomination started, just click the Nominate Now button to open up the submission form. Fill in the contact information (name, address, website and photo if you have one) for your local charity and write a short bit about why you are nominating them and their impact on the community.
Honestly, the most challenging thing about this nomination process is deciding who to nominate!
I just went through the application this week to nominate Catholic Social Services Alaska. They have several ‘branches’ which support the homeless and poor in Alaska as well as refugee assistance. Alaskan weather is brutal in wintertime and these charities have an immediate and huge impact in the lives of those with no where to turn for help.
Who would YOU nominate for this incredibly generous event?
