While Nana and Papa were here in August, we went looking for a way to see the wildlife native to Alaska without spending hours on our quest.
The Alaskan Wildlife Conservation Center provided us that opportunity. Since Dad couldn’t join us that day, we ended up getting a membership so we can head down when he has a free day and inclination to check it out.
While there are fewer animals to see that the Alaska Zoo, everything is spread out a bit more. The brown bears seemed to really enjoy their area, almost putting on a show for the people coming to see them. And, you have the option to drive to most of the exhibits (which is helpful for those challenged by walking distances or just not enjoying the nippy air.)
