I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
A fellow crewmate on the TOS Crew shared about this HUGE event and I decided to take a little time out of the week to participate.
Not only can you find out about a TON of other blogs out there through this event, you can participate and possibly win a prize! If you’re interested in participating in the party, visit 5 Minutes for Mom to read all about it. The week ends on the 27th, so time is limited :o)
If I am to win a prize, here’s my preferences:
19 — $50 gift certificate to Target Stores from Shoot-Me-Now
68 – $30 gift certificate to Christian Book Distributors from A High and Noble Calling
21 — $50 gift certificate to Target Stores from Agoosa
Other prizes I wouldn’t mind winning include # 22, 26, 37, 44, 56, 58, 69, 88, 89, 91, 118, and 123 (with no strong preference for order as they are all great prizes!)
For those who are visiting here for the first time, I’d like to welcome you to our family’s home on the web. I started this blog primarily to share what we are doing wtih friends and family. However, this past year it took on a new role of homeschool product reviewing as I was chosen to be on the TOS Crew’s maiden voyage. Visit the TOS Crew website to read more about the TOS Crew and see how you can join the fun during the second year (if you are a homeschooling parent.) I was blessed to review so many great products this past year and just know that all the families selected for next year will be blesses as well. It is hard work (especially meeting deadlines with multiple things going at once), but I found it well worth the time and effort.
About our family ~ we’re currently renting a fantastic house in Maryland that was built as a retreat place. The community is far removed from the regular hustle and bustle, which means a LOT more driving for us to get anywhere. But, the amenities are fantastic (private boat launch into the river that feeds into the Chesapeake Bay, private beach front with playground and other fun, and the opportunity to just enjoy nature as the community property abuts state property. The boys love to beach comb while walking with their dad (and sometimes me!) or just sit at the pier and try their hand at fishing.
At the moment, there are only boys in this house. So, the testosterone runs high at times and this mama’s known to boot them outdoors to release that energy. We’re in our third year of homeschooling and for the most part love this way of life. Yes, there are days when boarding school overseas sounds like a great option. But, seeing how much they are growing in their faith and work well with people of all ages makes the difficult days worth it.
Along with posts about homeschooling and the family, I occasionally am moved by the Spirit to share my faith. Both my husband and I were raised Catholic since birth, but only in the last few years have found tremendous growth in our faith as we raise the boys. We have attended Latin Mass a few times this past year where several homeschool families we know attend, but that’s not happened recently as I’ve been serving as interim Music Ministry director at our home parish.
So, I hope all the visitors to this blog enjoy their time poking around. Please leave me a comment as you feel moved to do. I just love to meet others from around the globe and truly believe we can grow through these connections.
As one thing I love to do is share about freebies with others, I would be negligent in my ‘duties’ if I didn’t mention the great Easter Resources being offered by The Old Schoolhouse. Two wee ebooks plus place cards are what you’ll find waiting for you from them here. There is also the option to register for their specials email list which will have more freebies landing in your inbox over the year.
