Last month, I shared about the incredible $25,000 giveaway Best Buy is sponsoring for educators / schools. In that post, I showed one example of how my son’s 6th grade teacher was using iPads to expand learning opportunities for the kids. I never dreamt of expanding from a poster board project display to include short video clips that are tied to particular spots on the board. It was very interesting to see in action and I heard about the excitement of video recording short scripted segments the students wrote.
The growth in technology and what you can do with it opens so many doors in the classroom that you really can not ignore the potential. However, not all educators know how to select the best devices for use in the classroom. That’s where Best Buy Education comes into the picture as they can help you select and optimize technology for your own needs.

Discover how the latest technology can transform your classroom. Most young people today are growing up with technology and are using it in every aspect of their lives. School should be no exception.
With the right devices, students can:

Just think, with the right balance of technology, a student can be learning in ways that might be more optimized for their learning style (aural, kinesthetic, or visual.)
iPads can be loaded with electronic versions of textbooks freeing up space as well as being easier to transport for a child. Younger students can do things like math drills with apps that make it more fun.
You can have multiple students looking on as you demo something on a larger screen.
I honestly find technology to be a wonderful tool in education IF you know what best fits your needs.
What are some ways that you’ve seen technology incorporated into learning experiences for students?
