For years, spring arrives and I become miserable. Itchy eyes, runny nose, sore throat. Allergy Season has hit and I feel like finding a cocoon to hole up in until things settle down. My husband and my older son also have the same seasonal allergy issues.
When things are in full bloom, I find our ability to stay active and enjoy the outdoors decreases. Finding something that helps provide temporary relief from our symptoms is a boon. Because who wants to be stuck inside while things are gorgeous outside?
I received Similasan products for free from Moms Meet (momsmeet.com) to use and post my honest opinions. Compensation for this post was provided and this page may contain affiliate links.
Similasan Products For Temporary Allergy Symptom Relief
Just in time for allergy season, I received a wonderful bundle of products to review. These products from Similasan help with relief from seasonal allergy symptoms.
The ‘star’ of the bundle is the Similasan Allergy Eye Relief eye drops. They come in either a small bottle or even in single-use packets that are perfect for when on the go.
Unlike most commercially available allergy eye relief products, this one uses natural botanical extracts These help to stimulate the body’s natural defenses and target the root cause. The key ingredients are Eyebright (Euphrasia) and Sabadilla lily (Sabadilla.) And the eye drops are Non-GMO Project Verified.
A key point that they emphasize (and some might not consider) is to get one package of drops for each family member. No sharing of the eye drops!! Also, the regular bottle notes that it should be tossed 30 days after opening. So, if you only need it sporadically, the single-use packets are the perfect option.
Thoughts on the Simliasan Products
As someone who has suffered from allergy issues for years, I have tried many different products. After embracing a less pharmaceutical approach to allergy season, I found myself just suffering for weeks. When it came to eye drops, I avoided the commercial ones as they rarely helped my eyes. Instead, I found them to make my eyes feel a different kind of strange.
When I learned more about the Similasan Allergy Eye Relief eye drops, it made perfect sense. Many commercial eye drops use vasoconstrictors to mask symptoms and/ or antihistamines to minimize the allergic response. Vasoconstrictors are harsh chemicals the constrict blood vessels. I’m thinking that must be why I always felt worse a while after using the drops.
The Similasan Allergy Eye Relief eye drops do not feel harsh on my sensitive eyes. They do provide the temporary relief I seek during this season. And beyond that temporary relief of things like itching, watering, and redness of my eyes, these flower extracts help to stimulate my body’s natural defenses.
From this initial exposure to the Similasan brand, I can see why it has been a trusted provider in Switzerland for over 35 years. Using active natural ingredients instead of harsh chemicals is something that resonates well for me and my family.
Here is to more adventures and less hiding at home waiting for my allergies to calm back down!
