Okay, I’m still catching up from late May….
On Memorial Day, we were blessed with gorgeous summer weather here in the greater Anchorage area. To celebrate the day, we joined others at our parish for a picnic.
One of the neatest desserts was a ‘hamburger’ made with 2 vanilla wafers, a mint cookie (ala Girl Scouts) with red and yellow icing to mimic ketchup and mustard. The only ‘downside’ is that they can’t hold up long in the heat or sunshine. So I let J eat it shortly after grabbing the photo below….
The fellowship was wonderful and several of us had the longest conversations with our pastor that we can recall ever having. Plus, there was lively discussion about another church in the area with a ‘attention grabbing’ sign that eventually was pulled upon the local government’s request. I did enjoy having the chance to discuss marketing to grab attention and when it might NOT be appropriate.
