Let me start by admitting the chore of cleaning the house is not something I always look forward to doing. Beyond the actual ‘chore’, I also have reservations about some products and the compounds contained within them. Not only do I worry about chemicals and what they’ll do to the people in our house, but also what they’ll do to the septic system here at the house.
I was excited to test out the natural household cleaning products from Natural House and see how they stacked up to the less eco-friendly ones we usually use.
We were sent a 30 day supply of Flushy, Sinky and Trashy to test out.
Flushy is the cleaner for your toilet bowl,
Sinky helps clean out your kitchen sink drain and
Trashy helps battle the bacteria hanging out around your kitchen garbage can or diaper pail.
Both Flushy and Sinky are contained within a plastic coating that dissolves in water. I was a bit skeptical about it the first time I went to use Sinky. The last thing I wanted was for Mr. O to fuss at me if some plastic coating messed with the system. So, I set the packet on the counter to double check the information sheet on it. When I returned to the sink a few minutes later I noticed fizzing and a spread of powder as there must have been just a hint of water on the counter. Putting it into the toilet had it taking a bit longer to dissolve, possibly because the water is colder. But, it still does dissolve and allow the cleaner to do it’s work.
Overall, I am happy with the results from these products. Flushy is not quite as good at keeping hard mineral deposits from sticking as other cleaners we’ve used. But, it has done a decent job and could be a better option for regular use. I love the smell of all three products and how safe I felt while handling each one.
Here’s a short video about the products (cute, but not heavy on information)
